Hi Guys! My first major step has been accomplished. I have coupled the 10HP BLDC motor to the Suzuki Zen's gear box. I will be doing some tests outside the car. can someone help me on availability of Li-Ion or LiFePo4 battries.

Its great to see so much enthusiasm about vehicle conversions. I too am a wannabe petrol to EV converter. I have a Kinetic Honda which I want to convert to electric. My one concern is what kind of permissions do I have to get from the RTO to be able to run the converted scooter on road? Do I have to get it tested from ARAI? Also do you guys know if I convert a car to EV do I need to re-register it with RTO and what do I need to do to get insurance for it.

conversion of suzuki esteem to EV
you have to start with a motor and controller. correct motor is available from US only. for esteem a 10HP (continuous) at 72 volt will be a good choice. other parts can be procured from india. one example is D&D 10 HP 72 Volt motor available form www.evparts.com

This is a very expensive option. Other alternative is to down-load the instructions manuel & procure all parts from local market. This will work out cheaper.
